About me

My name is Dorothy Knosby, and I am a recent graduate from UNC Charlotte's Technical & Professional Writing MA program. I graduated with a 3.91 GPA. It was also intensely stressful, but I always exercise my full efforts in all moments of the journey that is life. During graduate school, I was also employed as a Teaching Assistant in the Graduate Assistantship program at UNC Charlotte. Legitimately employeed: I received W2s two years in a row; therefore, it is considered two years of valid work experience in the related fields. Before entering the Technical Writing MA program, I graduated Magna Cum Laude from a double-major program in English (Creative Writing) and Japanese Language with a 3.82 GPA. Keep in mind, I also worked while accomplishing this feat. Speaking of working, I have held several job titles, including a position as a teacher in Japan, where I worked for almost two years, while also rapidly building on my Japanese language proficiency. Even though I am back in the States, I continuously study to maintain a respectable level of proficiency in the language. Language is awesome; I would like to learn at least two more before I ship off to the Grey Havens. I also designed and tested the usability of a website for an event that is to take place throughout Charlotte, NC, in 2024 this past year, so I have been a busy little bee.

My passion for language walks side-by-side with my passion for communication. The need to work in an environment where I actually feel like my hard-earned knowledge is being put to use is strong. I mean, who dedicates this many years to higher education and completely drowns themself in debt if they didn't love fields that focus on their target subjects like writing, language, and communication?

In addition to language and communication, I also have a strong love of design and photography. I have been photographing for years, and even had the privilege to work in a dark room for a set of months. This love has also led me to work with some of the Adobe softwares such as Photoshop and InDesign. I'm great with both. Check my Instagram obiwanknosby if you are interested in seeing my photography. Side note: if you didn't read the Home page, all of the photographs on the website belong to me. :)

I am thrilled every time I can add a new project to my portfolio, especially when I am able to blend my technical side with my creative side. I am proud of my achievements thus far, but the journey to create, learn, and evolve will never stop. So hire me!! Haha, just kidding. But seriously, I would love the chance to work somewhere amazing.
